friday may 18 2001 : baccalaureate    |    9:58 a.m.

last full day at kenyon. baccalaureate and last-minute packing. i just woke up and i'm tired and hung over. my mom and uncles must be eating breakfast at the deli by now, and i still have to mobilize.

a boy slept in my bed last night. all we did was listen to sebadoh and hayden until we fell asleep. it was nice.

fritz and i went over to john and roddy's earlier in the night, after the fireworks. we played two games of beer pong and got wasted. but we kicked ass. i don't remember who won or really what the particulars were, but as far as flair, we were unmatched. probably the last night of beer pong, hopefully not the last night with the boys. there was so much love in that apartment -- we reminisced a little and hugged a lot. i told roddy i'd come visit him in cleveland. and i will. one good thing about graduating, i suppose, is that it gives you all these excuses to travel and go see your friends.

so eloquent this morning, me and the remnants of my brain!

parents are running all over campus. very strange. but sort of nice. mom took me to the village in for dinner when she got in, and then we walked all over campus. i showed her philo and nu pi kappa, and she got to meet professor kluge, who ran into us at the bookstore. i met joel's parents (!) and steve's parents and fritz's parents. i love seeing where people come from.

but now i should go shower and get ready for all this craziness. so i'm guessing this will be the last time i write from ohio, the last time on the old computer, the last diaryland update from college. not to fixate on leaving too much, but it's impossible not to. but i have a lifetime to get nostalgic.

so. here i go. i will meet you at the exit.
