oh! you will have to forgive my excessive posting and music-gushing of late, but i just have to do it again. i can't hold back. and you will also have to forgive my citing entertainment weekly at all, but see, the problem is this:
the word on the new sparklehorse album, it's a wonderful life, is trickling out. and the first print-review i've seen of it is here: a glowing review, complete with appropriately haunting photo of mark linkous himself, the man who never shows his face to the media.
they call it a "collection of gorgeous gloom," "the sound of an Appalachian funeral." i have to say that i couldn't have put it better myself. go ew!
everybody stateside has to run out to his or her local record store on the day the album comes out, august 28, and show mr. linkous some love. you have no idea how much & for how long i've been anticipating this third full-length... the suspense is killing me! should you need more coaxing, know that tom waits, nina persson, and pj harvey (among others) do song-cameos on the album. i get giddy just thinking about it. giddy, people! this is serious stuff!
that's all i really had to say. i'm bored. typing up cover letters is a dry business indeed.
